As the fall quarter comes to close, the Stanford Club Ice Hockey Team is gearing up for another thrilling season on the ice. After a reduced season last year as they rebuild their roster to full strength, this year's squad looks to elevate their game and prepare for their entry into the West Coast Hockey Conference. With an influx of new talent and a solid core of returning players, Stanford Ice Hockey will bring action that nothing else on the Farm can replicate.
Although the team had to say goodbye to the heart of the team, Josh Kim, Captain Josh Shunk has taken on the reins and leads Club Ice Hockey into a new era, one where the recruits are plenty and ready to roll. Freshmen
Aaron Wang,
Emmett Smith, and
Jaden Chen bring greatly needed speed, agility, and skill. PhD student Cléa Crane from the Cornell Women's Ice Hockey Team is ready to battle for the puck even against the largest of foes.
Returning players will help develop a strong set of rookies that will help Stanford return to the big leagues.
Taden Horse, the last year's top scorer, will continue to shock goalkeepers with his killer snap shots. Defenders
Charles Joyner and
Nicholas Daal bring the physicality and tactical awareness to win tough matchups. And who could forget our legendary goalie,
Genevieve Knowles, who has been eating pucks all day.
Head coach Max Rosenthal is entering his first season with Stanford, and he brings electric expertise and a strategic mindset only an NHL emergency backup goalie can have. The coaching staff's focus will be on developing the team's depth and conditioning to manage the limited roster.
As the Stanford Club Ice Hockey Team embarks on the 2025-26 season, anticipation is high for what's to come. With a roster eager to make their mark on history, the Cardinal are ready to take the ice and put pucks in the back of the net. Fans can look forward to thrilling games, impressive performances, and the emergence of new stars. Let's lace up and gear up for what promises to be an unforgettable season! Go Cardinal!
