Stanford took an early lead with two tries from Max Burns. Cal Poly responded with a try of its own, but Arturo Kupfer scored just before halftime off a well-timed pass from Taki Rifai. The Cardinal carried a 17–7 lead into the break.

In the second half, Rifai set up Julian Safos for a try. Carter Kling added one of his own after a series of offloads between Rifai, Santos, and Kling.

Jacob Bethell remained steady on conversions, slotting three of five attempts from around the park.
