Stanford Polo New Members Debut at UC Davis Women’s Hart Tournament

Big moment for our rookies — on April 27, five of our new members played in their first-ever polo games at the UC Davis Women's Hart Tournament.

Thanks to UC Davis for creating a dedicated walk/trot flight, our newest teammates had the chance to step into the arena, apply what they've learned, and get a true feel for the sport in a competitive but supportive setting.

These players have been working hard all year to build the basics: swing form, horsemanship, rules, and riding. And this weekend, it all came together. They rode with purpose, stayed calm under pressure, and most importantly—had fun. For many of them, this tournament marked a milestone: the shift from practicing polo to truly playing it.

We'd like to highlight Mason Harris (? '28) and Pleng Kruesopon (? '26) for being the games top scorers, each scoring 2 or their first goals in polo

Additionally, Carlos Valencia (? '28) was named Most Valuable Player by the tournament umpires for his essential communication and playing skills.

We're so proud of how much they've grown in such a short time. This is just the beginning.
