Stanford Men's Rugby traveled to Fresno for the CRAA 7s. The conference tournament included D1AA teams from Stanford, San Jose State, American River College, San Francisco State, and host Fresno State. 

The Cardinal faced SFSU in the first match of the day and came away with a 26-19 win with a pair of tries by Taki Rifai and singles by Matt Le Dorze and Patrick Kennedy. Kennedy converted on 3 out of the four. 

Next up, the Cardinal met the Fresno State Bulldogs. Fresno capitalized on a pair of tries from kick off returns in what otherwise was any team's game. Rifai and Su Reh dotted down two tries for the Cardinal and Kennedy added a conversion in the 12-21 loss. 

In the final pool game, the Cardinal lost to ARC 7-36 with Le Dorze claiming the solo try after unmatched footwork and acceleration down the narrow sideline following the assist from Nolan Pierce. Kennedy added a conversion for a 71% conversion success rate.

With a roster new to rugby 7s, the Cardinal continued to learn and improve on game understanding over the course of the day. This will serve them well as they head to Irvine, CA next weekend to play in the Los Angeles Invitational on Friday May 2nd at the Great Park Sports Complex ahead of the HSBC SVNS finale.
