Nic Irwin returns for his third season as Stanford Rugby’s scrum and lineout coach, bringing expertise in biomechanics and fitness training that has helped propel the women’s squad to consecutive D1 15s National Championships and set a strong foundation for our men's team.
A New Zealand native, Nic played 1st XV rugby at Hamilton Boys High School and represented Waikato RFU at the age-group level. His rugby journey has taken him across three continents, where he played and coached men’s club rugby in England, Australia, and Canada before making California his home.
Nic resides in El Cerrito with his wife and daughter, where he also operates a kettlebell boot camp. A dedicated student of the game, he aspires to coach at the age-group and national team levels.
