Stanford Women's Rugby vs. Trinity College
College Park | Dublin, Ireland
Stanford 72, Trinity 12
DUBLIN, Ireland — Stanford Women's Rugby earned an emphatic 72–12 victory over Trinity College on Thursday night at College Park, a centerpiece of the Trinity College campus.
Stanford struck early, as flanker Isabelle McNabb set up No. 8 Sydney Davis for a line break in the opening minute. Davis, a recent Women's Elite Rugby Championship winner with the Denver Onyx, powered through for a 70-meter try to open the scoring.
Trinity answered in the 20th minute to level the match at 7–7, and held the Cardinal scoreless for the next 20 minutes. Stanford then found its rhythm and pulled away with a dominant attacking performance.
Davis finished the night with a hat trick, while Jara Emtage-Cave added three tries of her own. Center Emma Lewis, who spent the summer at the Crusaders Academy in New Zealand, scored twice. Second row Zoe Colloredo-Mansfeld, fullback Cara Feit, flyhalf Chisa Ogaki and wing Thalia Revilla each added a try.
Stanford Rugby alumna and USA Rugby National Team player Katherine Treader was also on hand to support the team and present post-match honors ahead of the USA's WXV match against Ireland on Sunday in Dublin.
The result capped a memorable day at College Park and marked Stanford Women's Rugby's second victory of its international tour as the program looks ahead to its milestone 50th year.
