Quarterfinal
Stanford 12Â - Cal Poly 5
In a tightly contested quarterfinal match-up, Stanford faced Cal Poly. The teams met a handful of times this year in conference XV matches and 7s matches. Each match was a battle of competitors, keeping spectators at the edge of their seats. The Cardinal came back from a 0-5 deficit at the half, coming away with a hard-fought 12-5 victory that advanced them to the Semi-Final round of the 2026 CRAA 7s National Championships.
Cal Poly struck first with an early try, putting the pressure on the Cardinal. The team spent a good amount of the first half on defense, showing their composure as they played three minutes of the half with only six players due to a yellow card.  Stanford's resilience shone through in the second half, where co-captain Journey Washingtonhigh managed to break through for a try, with Cara Feit converting successfully, bringing the score to 7-5 in favor of Stanford.
Moments later, Feit showcased her skill by scoring a try following an effortless offload from Jara Emtage-Cave, extending the lead to 12-5. The Stanford defense held firm against Cal Poly's efforts to level the score, securing their spot in the semi-finals with a gritty performance that highlighted their tenacity and physicality.
Stanford will take on Claremont Mckenna in the Semi-Finals on Sunday, April 25th at 9:50am Eastern / 6:50am Pacific. The match is streamed on the CRAA YouTube Channel. The other Semi-Final match up features Cal vs UC Santa Barbara. Â
