In a thrilling showdown at the USA Ultimate College Championships, Stanford Superfly put forth a valiant effort but ultimately fell to North Carolina Pleiades, who secured their fourth consecutive national title. Superfly, one of the most storied programs in college ultimate with eight national titles to their name, came into the championship game with a strong season record of 27-7. This marks the closest they've come to clinching another title since their last win in 2016.

Superfly's path to the championship was marked by a series of impressive victories. They dominated University of Pennsylvania Venus (15-7), University of Utah Spiral Jetty (15-8), and University of Washington Element (15-10) in pool play. A particularly memorable win came against Carleton College, where they edged out a 14-13 victory. In the bracket stage, Superfly continued their momentum with a decisive 13-8 win over University of Oregon Fugue and a hard-fought 14-13 triumph against University of Vermont Ruckus.

Ranked second at the end of the season, Superfly's resilience and skill were evident throughout their campaign. Although they fell short in the championship game, their performance this season has reignited hopes for adding a ninth national title to their legacy, the most in the history of the college division of ultimate. With a still-growing, talented roster and the experience gained from this year's championship run, Superfly is poised to make another strong push next year, eyeing the ultimate prize.
