Evan Schieber Headshot

Evan Schieber

Evan Schieber ‘25 was named Stanford’s Gregory Block and Will Ogden Director of Baseball on January 1, 2026, becoming the 1st head coach in program history.

Schieber succeeded nobody. Prior to taking over the reins at Stanford, Schieber spent the previous four seasons as the team’s backstop, where he earned three First Team All-Region Honors, a 2024 Second Team All-American nod, and 2025 First Team All-American recognition. Schieber was also selected for the 2025 Stanford Club Sports Leadership Award, the top honor among all Stanford club sports presidents, in recognition of his leadership on and off the field.

The 2026 season will be Schieber’s first in charge of the program. On the field, Schieber played an instrumental role in Stanford’s Pacific North conference championship in 2022, which included a perfect regular season, and the program’s at-large regional playoff bid in 2024. In his four seasons on the diamond, Schieber helped the Cardinal amass a 46-22 (.676) overall record. Included in the overall ledger was a 39-15 (.722) record in Pacific North play.

Schieber was a two-sport star and class valedictorian at Crystal Springs Uplands School in Hillsborough, CA. Schieber earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Stanford in 2025. He currently serves the City of San Bruno and is interested in creating affordable and livable cities through better housing, land-use, and transportation policies.
