Stanford Figure Skating and Ice Hockey's Skates & Sticks event on May 24th was a great way to end the 2025-2026 season!
The evening kicked off with the main showcase, where eleven performances from the team took the crowd on a journey across decades and genres. Karissa Yau opened the night with a stunning and emotional skate to Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For." Next, the energy picked up with
Audrey Tai and
Emily Zhu's exciting duet to Robyn's "Dancing on My Own." Hannah Oo brought sass to the ice with "Promiscuous" by Nelly Furtado, followed by
Alea Delmastro's impressive, axel-full skate to Adam Lambert's cover of Cher's "Believe."
Audrey Akkerman then captivated the audience through every second of her program to "Before He Cheats," while
Valentina Juricek's skate to her own 2000s mix was electric.
Victor Chen skated powerfully to Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," and
Clara Finkelstein and
Rhett Hounsell absolutely thrilled the arena with their powerhouse duet to AC/DC's "Thunderstruck."
The graduating skaters brought the showcase to an emotional close.
Jierui Fang skated with grace to Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway,"
Sera Wang delivered a beautiful performance to "Glass Lines" by Tele, skating with quiet depth and artistry, and
Gia Mukherjee closed the showcase on an iconic note to Madonna's "Vogue."
After the showcase, the rink opened up for a lively open skate, which was a chance for skaters, friends, and fans to share the ice together before the main event's finale.
The night wrapped up with the Hockey Alumni Game, which brought a wave of familiar faces back to Stanford ice.
A huge congratulations to this year's graduating skaters –
Jierui Fang,
Vic Hempstead,
Sera Wang, and
Gia Mukherjee!
